The Core Job is either a market view that is defined around a group of people trying to get a job done - as opposed to using a product - or it can be what most people call a journey view, or the experience. While we use the same modeling approach, there are slight differences.
- The market view generally considers the end user side of the market, not the provider side. This is because there is no product yet, so there is no experience to consider (yet).
- The journey view can consist of both the end user journey and the provider service. Both parties have needs, as it must be a win-win. For example, the financial metrics for buyers are going to be very different than the financial metrics for a provider. Also, they both do things the other side can’t see, but need to be aware of. Lining the maps up in a service blueprint can often be very helpful even if you don’t field a survey.
